Decades before the eerie horror of liminal spaces became on Internet meme, French anthropologist Marc Augé identified the phenomenon in his 90' classic, "Non-Places: Introduction to an Anthropology of Supermodernity".

At WEC 2026, the Calm Tech Institute and Hello! Destination Management tested a different approach. We built a multi-sensory Resilience Space inside the convention center and measured its impact using Zenus privacy-first sentiment analytics.
